SUPERMEN: The hidden saviours

This ones a bit special! This ones for all the boys who take care of me and never let me down no matter how low I feel!
I've written many posts about men being in the wrong side but there are always some good people who get unnoticed and I'm gonna thank them through this blog!
As I had mentioned earlier I travel through train and I'm one of those girls whose more comfortable in the first class gents compartment, I know it sounds weird!! It's less crowded mostly but even when it's crowded, some men are so polite that they offer me their seat, I feel happy when I see such people who respect girls so much and sometimes it does happen that they try to protect me.
My best friends don't let me sit or stand besides a stranger when I'm travelling with them. They take care of me as if I'm a kid.
In college, I've got guy best friends who panic when I'm sad even when they know that my reason for being sad is just too lame, they'll crack stupid jokes to make me happy and will do anything just to see me smile! Even when they don't mention while doing all this, I know that they're doing it for me, just to make me happy! My college leaves some 1-2 hours after their does but they stay up till I leave college. They come to pick and drop me from college to the station. Can't even explain how good it feels to have such boys in my life! Such boys are like a four leaf clover, lucky to have but hard to find!!
I've come across so many boys in my college life where I know that some are sweet and selfless while some are sweet and selfish! People don't turn up the way you expect them to be! There were times when I thought that the respective guy would be helpful and trustworthy, he didn't turn up to be that way! Some people wear masks on daily basis! On the other hand, there was a guy who spoke very less and was very shy since the moment I met him, but he opened up so well and I share the most amazing rapport with him.
There were times when my mom used to tell me to beware of boys who enter my life, she always asked me not to trust people easily and here I am today happily letting boys enter my life and sharing the most darkest secrets with them because I know they are worth my trust and my love! I can't explain how amazing their portray of love and respect is!
I'd always wanted an elder brother who would love me and protect me from all the bad things in life and today I don't feel the need to have one, my boys with whom I don't have any kind of blood relation have made me realize that you don't always need family connections to make stronger bonds.
No matter how many tough looks they give, they'll be the one who'll be the most grounded when they're around you.
Boys don't open up easily especially when it comes to sharing their deep secrets but you'll know it that he trusts you when he's comfortable while sharing anything and everything with you.
This ones for all the girls who are more comfortable around boys and invest most of their time chilling out with boys because there's so much less drama.
Not all men are the same. Couldn't stop myself from saying this. Invest your time in the right ones and they'll never ever let you down. They'll make you feel beautiful and make you love yourself.
There's so much comparison between good and bad boys. Trust me, I'm not lying while I'm saying this, even the bad ones turn out to be good around a sweet girl.
A huge hug and lots of love to the boys who unknowingly do good things and don't even expect anything in return. Not all girls look at how a guy looks before giving him any kind of importance in her life! All your sweet gestures, those heartwarming messages, kind smiles and respectful hellos and goodbyes are considered important.
Be their friend, their best friend and they'll never leave you alone. Make them smile and they'll make you laugh. Be their bosom buddy and they'll offer you their shoulder when you cry.
Tell him another story
Tell him a million more
Let him sleep on your shoulder
He's gonna be your partner in crime, your gossip guy, your support forever!
When I've got the time to criticize and point out the flaws in some boys, I also find the time to respect and appreciate their good qualities! Maybe they've been brought up so well by their families or maybe they've learnt it with time! I'm sure they're gonna be amazing citizens who hold utmost respect for girls and I'm sure that if we've such guys in the society, girls are gonna be more safe!

Colours Of Joy

Ever Since I started blogging, everybody is suggesting me different topics that I can write on and I'm so happy that you guys help me so much. I'd been inactive on my blog since two weeks as I'm an Engineering student and I've got other things that I need to focus on. Before starting the blog I'd promised myself that I'll never post something just for the sake of posting, hence I take my own time to find the right topic that I can do justice with.
I've kept focussing on social issues since the blog started. It's not because I had planned to write on that particular topic,it's because something or the other inspired me to write it. I'll be sharing a random incident which gave me the inspiration to write this post.
I travel through train daily and there are so many people whom I come across who inspire me and make me feel motivated, may it be a beggar or an office going person or a student. Some 2 weeks back I came across an Eunuch, she was asking for money and I removed some coins to give her but she didn't notice me and walked to the next compartment, later she came back and started speaking in English, it seemed like she was very educated, she said that she saw me taking out money and the very next moment she prayed for my future and well being and didn't even take any money from me. As she left, I told my friend about her, she was beautiful and educated, and asked him why is she begging, she can easily get a job to which he simply said "Who will give her a job?" Since then I've been thinking about her almost every single day.
Not many of you know what an Eunuch is, they are called as Hijras and Kinnars in India and transgenders in other countries.
Eunuchs are considered as the third gender in India.
I still remember, it was my brother's wedding and the very next day some Eunuchs came home and they looked so excited, yet again they prayed for my brothers marriage to last longer and said " Ladka hua toh 10,000 leke jainge!" Maybe I wasn't that happy when I saw them but today when I look back, I always consider them to be a well wisher.
As a child I'd always been afraid of them because they looked different but as I grew up I learnt that they're normal just like you and me. I'd always heard people making fun of them and using the word Hijra in a derogatory manner. We humans can joke about anything and everything.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of stereotyping this group that you may find hard to understand.Maybe you already have.
We've ourselves made assumptions about them as we think that they're over sexualised uncontrollable freaks, drugged out prostitutes and flamboyant drag queens. Not all transgenders live a crazy lifestyle and act hyper masculine and hyper feminine. There's so much confusion related to their gender but they know their sex and their gender very well. They aren't defective or wrong or mentally disturbed humans. Cross dressing doesn't always take place for drag shows. They dress up the way they're comfortable in.
Transgenders cannot be identified easily as they look like normal human beings and I don't find it necessary to categorize them in a different way. They've got their own identity but they've the fear of coming out in public. But for those who do come up openly we need to respect them in every possible way. Everyone has their own choice and dignity. Many transgenders commit suicide as they're not accepted normal and claimed to have defects.
We humans have this habit of segregating everything that we come across. They are human beings and Mother Nature has made them the way they are. There's so much to learn from them, such inspiring human beings.
Manabi Bandyopadhyay who is a very respectful transgender who is the principal of Krishnanagar Women's college and the author of the bestselling novel.
Kalki Subramaniam is another inspiring example, she's an I.T professional and I love what she said in one of her interviews, she said "That would never happen earlier in the past. People would just not talk to transgenders. But now they not only talk to me, they invite me home."
In one of the interviews that I saw while researching on my topic, a man was describing an incident where a boy flirted with him and his heart started beating vigorously and that was the day when he discovered what he actually was and happiness started coming with the flow and I hold utmost respect for people who find their happiness and don't even have the fear of letting everyone else know what it feels like to be happy. People have always been afraid of being judged by others and that's the only reason why we can't even openly speak about this topic!
Learn to spread colors of joy and happiness.
THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO BE HUMAN!!

Love is a four legged word

I've been an animal lover since I was a child and I've always been a person who'll yell at people when they throw stones at dogs or irritate them! I love animals so much that if I'm asked to choose between humans and animals, I'll select animals without even giving it a second thought.
Animals are my all time favourite topic and I'd always dreamt of writing something for them, my true love for sure! But this is going to be a bit different because I'll focus more on the evil side of human beings than focussing on my sweet hearted animals!
Newspapers were flooded with the news of a man throwing a dog from the terrace of a building and some of his friends helped him to take pictures of it and record videos! Is there anything more lamer than this? And guess what, those boys were so called medical students! To all those who mention that education is important, then why are these men behaving so insane! What's the use of educating such morons? And these morons got a bail for 50 rupees! This is how strong the Animal Welfare laws are. With video evidence and so much of public outrage we couldn't remand them even for one day. I'm extremely disappointed and it's a 'Black day' for Animal Welfare in India. So glad that the dog is still alive!
We call India a religious and cultural country where our poojas end with offering food to the animals and this is literal shame for our country.
"The greatness of a nation is judged by the way it treats its animals" said the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
People in India are so insensitive that nothing really bothers them. You rape a girl, you kill an animal, you drive your car over a man, you murder someone nothing matters, you'll still be treated as a normal human being! And to the ones who tolerate such kind of shit, its a sign of encouraging those people! That's even more foolish.
This incident reminds me of an incident which happened a few days back.
So there was this cute pigeon whose leg got stuck in a wire and it was hanging upside down! It was bleeding! Mumma told me if I could help her,I was ready but I was scared because I know that I'm stupid so I thought I would cut her leg instead of the wire! But everything went amazingly well, and I love how sensible the pigeon was, she didn't even hurt me once! She knew that I was trying to help her out! Now she's  taking rest as she can't fly, hope she cures fast! Feels so amazing to save someone's life may it be a human being or an animal!
To people who say that they hate animals, animals don't require their permission to live on earth, in fact animals were given the right to be here long before humans arrived.
We term animals as wild and dangerous creatures yet they won't harm you until you try to harm them. And you call a man civilised and advanced even when you know that he can hurt his fellow men as well any other creature without even thinking twice!
I'm nobody to force you to start loving animals, but Atleast try to respect them.
And as I'd mentioned in my last post, as far as law is concerned it doesn't matter! At least in a country like India, it doesn't!
On the other hand I've seen people who treat their pets as their family members! I feel so happy when I see people playing with street dogs and giving them as much love as they would give to their pet.
A tiny pup, no one will play
He's waiting for that fateful day
When limbs torn off
Tail wags no more
Waiting to die- his heart so sore
How can we abuse this trust
Loyalty, lovingly bestowed on us?
Sadistic humans kill and maim
Both animal and man
We're all fair game.
" since rescuing animals, I lost my mind but found my soul
Dedicated to the loves of my life!!

Gender Bender

Usually all my blogs start with something that makes me inspired to write them! And even this ones similar to it!
I've this habit of observing people around me, and when I see women who are independent and dress the way they want to, I feel so proud to be a girl! I absolutely love the concept of independence and I love to see women who are so independent that they take their own decisions! Some are like bread earners of their family!
According to the old Indian society, girls were supposed to be at home and cook food! But there's so much change and today's Indian women have entirely changed this concept of girls sitting at home and cooking food. Today's girls have their own business ideas, even housewives have become entrepreneurs!
But is this all we need?
Even today some families follow the old Indian tradition, and they hesitate to send their girls to schools or for work! Some men have this horrible mentality and feel that their wives should sit at home and cook for them!
It would be so romantic when both the husband and wife return from work and sit together, discuss about their day and have food!
But the change from a position of utter degradation and subjugation of women in the 19th century is not a simple case of progress of women in the modern era.
Learning to embrace your singledom and enjoying the feeling of not running to your phone or drowning the failings of one lover into another.
Still women are being judged on the basis of their marital status and there's this so called marriageable age which we are yet to come out of! Marrying a boy and depending on him for your living is so mainstream! It's never too late to get married, but it can always be too early.
Women are still considered as a substance of symbolism, judged on the basis of clothing! So many things need to change for real!
I saw an interview on YouTube where I saw the difference in salaries of Bollywood stars. In Bollywood, male actors are paid more than their female costar! It's a sexist industry as well!
According to a survey, Indian women do 5 hours of more unpaid work than men. There's so much need to put value on a women's unpaid labour as housework is also a job. We need equality at home imperative to equality at work!
Why is a women considered to be financially dependent on a man? Why can't we think about the role reversal? Like why can't we imagine a man sitting at home and looking after the household chores whereas his wife working and earning for their family! Will our men be okay with this or not ? I'm sure they aren't yet ready for this! In Britain, more than 2,000 men look after their children. There's so much to learn from these men in Britain! That doesn't mean that men need to become unambitious!
I saw a movie named "Ki and Ka" a week ago and this movie speagks about role reversals in an Indian household!  Women are considered as homemakers but why are housebands a myth yet? Only 32% men in India are okay with their wife earning more than them! A woman's domain is always work at house!
We talk about gender equality and yet there are so many more points which can prove that India is still struggling for gender equality! Hence considered a developing country and not a developed one! The Indian mentality needs to grow, it needs to develop!
We talk about the Indian culture and yet so many rape cases. As far as the law is concerned, it doesn't matter!
Sometimes I do think that do we really need women's day? I've grown up in such a background where I'm considered equal to a boy and I'm allowed to dress the way I want and I'm allowed to choose my ambition! I'm constantly using the opportunities given by my parents and everyone doesn't get these opportunities. Some women don't need women's day, but millions do!
I may sound like a feminist. Make your mind push all boundaries and grow in the real sense!
I've been working on this blog since a week and it's yet not complete! There's so much I could add to this!
It's so hard to be a woman! You're being judged continuously!
You must think like a man
Act like a lady
Look like a young girl
And work like a horse.
We've begun to raise our daughters as our sons but few have the courage to raise their sons as their daughters!
